Nita Baum | Founder
Nita founded b*free in 2013 to reimagine how we view, value, narrate and embody wellbeing in our lives, work & culture. Her work across sectors as leader, coach and advisor to executives and teams at mission driven organizations from The Laundromat Project, Sesame Workshop (makers of Sesame St), Paramount Media, PRX, Echoing Green, Guayaki (the first B-Corp) to health equity leaders at New Profit, PSI, FoodCorps, iCAN and more - made stark how the gaps and patterns that challenge us most are rooted in our wellbeing. Mind Body Story, The A.R.T. of Creating Wellbeing brings together insights and tools from over 2 decades of transdisciplinary visioning and creating. Nita founded 3 social innovation organizations in wellbeing, education and renewable energy and has been a coach, advisor, healer, facilitator, mediator, board chair, teacher and professor. She speaks on the topics of wellbeing, healing and leadership. Her healing and wellbeing have been been transformed by 2 nephews and niece, being a caregiver to her 2 dying parents, travel, adventure and living in Japan. Deeply grateful for the natural world, she loves learning, playing music, wisdom teachers, friendship, courageous mentors, soulwork, yoga, movement and studying with indigenous people of the Amazon. Nita has a BA in PreMedicine & Art History from Columbia University, MBA from George Washington University and is certified in mediation, nutrition, coaching, yoga, restorative justice & somatic trauma-healing.
