Penelope Douglas | Advisor
Penelope Alice Douglas is a strategist, advisor, artist, social investor, and pioneer in community development investment, whose focus lives at the intersection of regenerative capital, community investment, arts/culture, and place-based wellbeing. Her current work includes serving as Impact Advisor to One Nation One Project, Strategic Advisor to The Lewis Prize for Music, Organization and Strategic Advisor to The Guild of Future Architects, while co-creating CultureBanq's vision for reimagining investment in artists as foundational to community vitality. Previously serving as Chief of Strategy for Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, she guided pioneering initiatives including the Artist-Led Giving Circle and Guaranteed Income Pilot for Artists. She has been a Senior Executive, Board Chair, Director and Senior Advisor to MissionHUB which helps entrepreneurs build sustainable businesses that drive long-term social and environmental good via its SOCAP Conference & Impact Hub locations. She continues to be a part of the Impact Hub community in San Francisco and at other global Impact Hub locations when she is on the road. She co-founded and served as founding CEO of Pacific Community Ventures and Managing Director of its Investment funds for 12 years. Pacific Community Ventures empowers small business owners with working capital, advice and mentorship, and access to the networks they need to grow their companies. Penelope was Founding Board Member and Chair of the Board of New Mexico Community Capital, an award-winning organization dedicated to providing knowledge and capital to help high-potential, high-growth and NM-based businesses. She is a Director-at-large of Opportunity Finance Network, the leadership organization for community development finance institutions and its allies. Penelope has a B.A. from Smith College.
